Below is what I said in June of 2003 however we are now into March of 2006. I have taken the opportunity to compare the situations of 2001/2 with both June 2003 and a few of the results we see today. The images you see below and supporting pages show how far we have progressed in improving the course both technically and esthetically."

I have put together a library of photographs from the period of most activity around the front nine holes for the period 2001-2003 and a few from March 2006. Along side you will see images of how well the course recovered from the extensive works at that time. Ditches have matured and have provided both practical solutions to drainage in this heavy (clay) area of the course and greated a more thoughtful requirement from our golf. We must consider our shots more carefully than the pre-ditch era particularly for the 2nd and 9th holes where traps are now in abundance.

I will update the missing images shortly and add a final shot to each of those below to show how well the course has matured.

This winter (2005/6) has proved the worth of the expenditure and effort with greens being available to play for longer than memories allow and the greens themselves are in very good condition (for Stocksfield at this time of year [early February])
